Innovation Productions are looking for a Head of event structures, This role would suit a candidate with good knowledge and experience for stage construction and previous experience of leading a team. Innovation own a large stock of staging, based on Litedeck as well as various truss and roof systems. The role will involve learning the company construction method for each and deploying them are at various locations around the UK. This will involve leading a mix of Innovation staff, freelancers and local crew as deemed suitable for each location. Out of season this role will lead other production builds and work on testing and maintenance of our stage equipment. Occasionally assistance with installed infrastructure project may be included in this role.

The role would include,

  • Ensuring all staging elements a maintained and kept in good condition.

  • Testing and inspection of staging equipment

  • Maintenance of Truss, rigging equipment and Staging

  • Managing all aspects of project delivery.

  • Installation of event equipment

  • Assisting in Stage managing events

  • Team Management

Necessary Skills,

  • Good Communication Skills

  • Well Organised

  • Excellent Technical Knowledge

  • Smart and professional manner

  • Excellent time keeping skills.

  • Previous Staging Experience

  • Confident driving of 3.5T vans

  • Clean Drivers License and over 21. (This is for vehicle insurance)

  • Good DIY stills

  • To have a good willingness to learn, and aptitude to become highly competent in the use of equipment at Innovation Productions Ltd

  • Ability to work under pressure and to resolve situations calmly and diplomatically.

  • Neat appearance.

  • A cheerful, positive ‘can do’ attitude.

  • Attention to detail and pride in work.

  • Ability to work at heights safely and confidently.

  • IPAF 3A and 3B

  • LEEA Qualifications

  • Counterbalance Forklift Ticket

  • Reach Forklift Ticket

  • All Terrain Telehandler Ticket

Desirable Skills:

  • C1 Driving License and CPC

  • C Driving License and CPC

Salary:

  • The full time rate for this position is £32000 Plus overtime

  • Employment is based on 40 hours per week. With 28 days holiday per annum (inclusive of bank holidays). – Overtime available, paid pro-rata.

Location

  • Based at our Barnsley Headquarters, although delivery & site work would be nationally and involve overnight stays.

Hours of Work

  • The hours of work for this role will be based on project requirements and will involve evening and weekend work.

Reports to

  • Senior Project Manager

Education:

  • Good standard of education, NVQ Level 3

  • Industry related education preferred but not essential.

  • Electrical / electronic qualifications preferred but not essential

Training

  • Training will be offered to suitable candidates for certain skill sets. Additionally, training will be provided in the specifics of our equipment and software. Additionally, training may be made available for other industry related skills.

Career Progression:

  • Within Innovation Productions you would be able to progress to a senior project manager from this role. Other roles both in and outside of the entertainment industry would be possible from the skills learnt in this role.
